By LAUREN PELLETT, Associated Press FBI Director James Comey is scheduled to testify before the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, but he’s not expected to testify about his decision to not prosecute former President Donald Trump.
In the days after the firing, House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes said Comey should appear before the panel to explain why he chose not to bring charges against Trump.
The California Republican, a Republican from California, said on Monday that he was investigating whether Trump tried to interfere with the FBI investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Nunes said he wanted to interview Comey in the wake of the firing of Comey, a Democrat, last month.
Comey did not appear before Nunes on Monday.
